The Government Affairs leadership at the Orange Couny Chapter of BIA/SC saved our membership millions by working with public agencies to approve development impact fee deferral programs to help stimulate the economy. Those who are participating in this program include the city of Orange, Mission Viejo, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Irvine, the County of Orange and the OC Sanitation District and in an unprecedented move, the Anaheim Union High School District followed suit. This economic stimulus plan has been well received and the results speak for themselves. The city of Orange’s development fee deferral directly benefited BIA/OC member Centex Homes. Because of the cost-savings the new fee deferral economic stimulus plan offered, Centex Homes decided to move forward with their next phase that was previously on hold.
