BIA/OC Zero Net Energy House

Purpose: Construct a zero net energy duplex unit to showcase and demonstrate energy, water, resource conservation and technology, as well as economic feasibility and associated costs, compared to a typically constructed Title-24 and code compliant home. The units would be used for a period of five years for educational purposes including discussions with agency stakeholders, school field trips, etc. to be primarily operated and managed by Anaheim Public Utilities. At the end of the period, the units would be sold for affordable housing or used for HomeAid Orange County’s program for the transitional homeless (to be discussed).
