Dale & Bea Stuard Scholarship Fund

The Dale & Bea Stuard/National Housing Endowment Scholarship Fund (The Fund) is a generous fund created by Dale & Bea Stuard. Dale Stuard is a former chairman of the National Housing Endowment of the National Association of Home Builders (NHE/NAHB) and a former BIA/OC President. This scholarship program is a clear demonstration of the Stuards’ firm commitment to giving back to their industry and helping students become qualified professionals. Now in its 6th year, the Fund has recently awarded $20,000 in scholarships to students for the 2010/09 school year. This financial assistance can sometimes be the deciding factor when students are considering continuing their education.

Applicants for the scholarship must either be a graduating high school student in Orange County or have graduated from an Orange County high school in the past five years. Successful completion of coursework, which the applicant is currently enrolled, is required. The scholarship is applicable for payment to two or four year colleges, and vocational/certificate programs. Light Construction & Management Development Certificate

Program Benefits

  • Advavce your knowledge and skills in project planning, research, scheduling, analysis and management of light construction projects.
  • Gain hands-on experience in the preparation of commercial, industrial and residential loan packages.
  • Obtain a detailed understanding of residential real estate financing techniques and financial instruments as well as governmental entitlement.
  • Learn how to develop, implement and evaluate marketing, sales and customer relationship management strategies.
  • Examine how computer technology and related tools can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of many building industry company functions.
  • Participate in a program that integrates “green” and sustainability factors within the broader curriculum.

Certificate Requirements

A certificate is awarded upon completion of seven required courses and two electives each with a grade of “C” or better. This program entails 235 hours of instruction.
After you have completed all requirements, you may request to receive your official certificate by completing the Request for Certificate Form and returning it to our offices as noted on the form.
