Jill Cagle – Director of Public Affairs – Jill manages all the public and media relations for the chapter and is responsible for creating and implementing effective internal and external communications strategies. This includes writing for Southern California Builder magazine, the BIA/OC website, the Membership Newsletter and other publications. Jill is the staff liaison for the Building Industry Technology Academy and oversees the Dale & Bea Stuard Scholarship administration. Additionally, she spearheads the Next Generation Group, for those members under 35 who wish to become more pro-active in the greater chapter. Jill also supports the government affairs staff on legislative and regulatory issues and will be representing the Building Industry Association in a number of public speaking forums including panel discussions and public presentations. She is also the primary liaison for community development and coalition groups such as local chambers of commerce, the California League of Cities and other community groups. Prior to working for the BIA/OC, Jill began her career at American Suzuki Corporation as a Intern in the Corporate Communications department where she helped coordinate the Suzuki Rock n’ Roll Marathon, as well as several advertising and public relations campaigns. In addition, Jill has also worked for a number of advertising/pr agencies in Southern California where she contributed to the strategic planning, and execution of communications plans for Standard Pacific Homes, Fleetwood RVs, PFF Bank & Trust, and Orange County’s Tourism Council. Continuing her career in the communications industry Jill worked as the Communications Specialist II in the marketing and public relations department at Orange County’s Credit Union, where she managed their public relations, special events, promotions, marketing campaigns and participated in the strategic re-branding of the credit union. Jill is an active member of the Orange County chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, Building Block Foundation and the Orange County Press Club. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Jill grew up in Orange County and currently resides in Irvine with her husband Chris.
